dB-Bloc Barrier Vinyl

[dB-Bloc Barrier Vinyl]

Product Description
This is a flexible barrier PVC vinyl material designed to block sound from transmitting through the wall it is attached to. Made in a liquid state, with sand added to gain density, this heavy mass product weighs 250-300 pounds per roll despite being only 1/10" thick! Ideal for protecting room B from room A's noise.

Tips:
The weight of the material is what makes the product work for you. Cut the pieces into smaller, more manageable sizes as you install. For maximum affect, treat both sides of a common wall with the product. Double up on the sheetrock, but use two different thicknesses of the drywall and layer this material in between! Also note that standard insulation stuffed between joists in a wall does little to block sound transmission. It is not dense enough. Also remember that structural noise transmission through the studs is common. Ask NetWell how to minimize this affect!

Installation Techniques:

First ask NetWell about using a staggered stud or floating wall approach to your construction if possible. Then apply the dB-Bloc vinyl bewteen the studs and sheetrock. Do not glue this directly to a wall for free standing. It's weight will require the reinforcement of another layer of wall surface to be screwed or nailed over it! Use staples or screws to temporarily hold it up until you get your next wall surface applied. Also a good product for laying on top of your ceiling tiles to "cap" the room with a sound barrier material!
