USDA Panels

- Product Description
- These panels are made of a rigid fiberglass board shrunk wrapped with a PolyVinylFluoride skin. The thick skin wrapped around the panels protects the fiberglass from most solvents and alkalies. The panels can be cut in different sizes for lay in ceiling tiles, vertical baffles, or large wall panels.
A 1" thick high density fiberglass core hardboard sound panel encapsulated in a 1 mil Poly Vinyl Flouride plastic film, shrunk wrapped and heat sealed at the seams for complete water protection. These acoustical panels are ideal for a drop in ceiling tile structure, a hanging noise baffle system, or individual wall mount application. The material is listed by the USDA as acceptable for treatment of unwanted noise in food processing plants. These panels are also weather and UV resistant for treating outdoor noise problems. Ideal product for clean room, food processing, outdoor, or high moisture potential noise absorption applications.
- Tips:
The good news is that the thick skin protects the environment and the fiberboard form one another The bad news is that thicker skinned acoustic products become more reflective and less absorptive. Note the weakening of the absorption numbers, and opt for an alternative product when you are able! Ideal, however, for food processing plants where FDA approval is a must!
- Installation Techniques:
- Work with NetWell consultants to determine the best strategy for your application. They can be layed into ceiling tiles, dropped as a vertical baffle or clipped to your wall surfaces.
Standard installation techniques include laying flat into an existing 2' x 4' ceiling tile grid structure, suspending them as hanging noise baffles by having NetWell install grommets in the comers for easy hanging, or wall mounting using the same grommet technique.
