Boxelder Bug Variations
by Bill Holm

"Boxelder Bug Variations" takes place in a tree...we think...with bugs/people...we believe...who invite us into their world of music and poetry. The environment consists of a slide for entrances and exits, a ramped platform stage right, a unit which will house a synthesizer and a stump/organic unit for sitting or standing. Around the stage are "knot holes" connected by mottled stretchy cloth secured to the ground...tendrils through which the bug/people can slide through and hide behind.

This show is the second of two presented in an evening. The first, Chin Music, will be staged in front and stage left and will consist of a radio studio. It is the last night for DJ Calvin. The set will have two desks, a rolling office chair and a back wall. Stage left will be a second defined area with a stool, a cutout mannikin and a coat tree.
