| Andrea Michealsen in Wayzata Ms. Michaelsen began her affiliation with USA Karate in 1992. She enjoyed competing at the lower belt level and was consistently ranked in the top three during that time. Since earning her Black Belt under Mr. Kruckow's instruction in 1996 (at the age of 37) she has continued to compete at the Black Belt level and has maintained a ranking of #1 or #2 for both Sparring and Form in the N.C.K.A. (North Central Karate Association). She also had the opportunity to compete on a national level during the 1997-98 season and earned a ranking of #2 in the Canadian /American Conference for Continuous Sparring. Ms. Michaelsen began working for USA Karate in several different capacities in 1993 and has been teaching since 1996. Ms. Michaelsen is the tournament coordinator for the Northern Stars and the Minnesota State Championships, she is also administrative assistant to Gordon Franks and Pat Worley and is in charge of the inventory for all of the USA Karate locations. She feels privileged to be a part of such a talented group of individuals and pleased to share the knowledge that has been given to her. Not only has USA Karate been of tremendous benefit to her, but also to her children. Ms. Michaelsen's son earned his Black Belt when he was 10 and her daughter when she was 8. Earning their Black Belts has shown each of them that if they work hard toward a goal, they will be able to attain that goal. Ms. Michaelsen would like to thank Masters Worley and Franks, Mr. Kruckow and the USA Karate instructors for sharing their knowledge and pushing her to meet her next goal. Ms. Michaelsen graduated to Second Degree Black Belt on November 14th, 1998. |
