Nigel Beavan

Baritone

1969-1970

[Nigel Beavan]

"Richard Salter, our first baritone, had the misfortune - from our point of view - to be awarded one of the prestigious Richard Tauber Scholarships, which meant that he would be departing for Vienna almost at onece. Thony Holt was teaching and making musuic in Chichester at that time and couldn't be budged, so we asked Nigel Beavan (later to be appointed to the choir of St. Paul's Cathedral) to oblige."
