The Rural America Writers’ Center celebrates
the first publication of the Green Blade
The Rural America Writers’
Center, is pleased to announce the publication of the first
edition of the Green Blade, a
quarterly publication showcasing the talents of the Writers’
Center’s members.
Open to participants of all skill levels, the Writers’
Center offers classes and workshops led by noted regional
authors, and designed to help improve writing skills in
both prose and poetry. Monthly “open mic” sessions
held every third Wednesday offer writers the opportunity
to read their works in a public setting.
The editorial staff of the
Green Blade includes General Editors Rita Hawes and Kevin Rafferty. The staffs promise is to honor the
diversity of the participants, and yet the closeness of
all to the land of Southeastern Minnesota, centered around
Plainview, the organization’s home.
